Please Read The Rules ...

1. All Prize Money is GUARANTEED.

2. Handicap is 70% of 230. NO minimum average. Most events use a 4-game qualifying format, a 3-game semi-finals, and step ladder finals.

3. NO average divisions for qualifying. If offered: A Over (205 and over), B Under (204 and under).

4. Games bowled that are 40 or more under the assigned average will NOT count toward tournament average.

5. Entering average is the highest book average from the last 2 years of 9 or more games, including current league averages. No average means 230 assigned. Averages are updated after each event.

6. Tournament average is the higher of your entering average or actual pin fall based on rules, unless you do not cash under cashing ratio guidelines.

7. PBA or equivalent national title holders cannot bowl. Regional winners in the last 12 months also cannot bowl and may be restricted by director decision. Minimum average for any PBA or equivalent member is 220.

8. Most events cut by squad. If used, cut may be by division by day. Squad leaders may be automatically seeded to the semi-finals with minimum entries and included as part of the overall cut.

9. Tie scores in qualifying will advance to the semi-finals. Finals ties are resolved by 9th and 10th frame roll-off. Handicap is 1/10th per frame of assigned handicap for each game.

10. Western States Open is a Subsidiary of ABT Bowling. Banking and related operations are handled through the ABT national office.
